Brighton & Hove Green Business of the Year 2025

Being named Green Business of the Year at the Brighton & Hove Business Awards last night was a genuinely humbling moment for us. To be recognised for our commitment to sustainable business practices, especially within our own community, and alongside such an inspiring group of local nominees, is by far our most encouraging accolade to date.

Recognising businesses doing it better in Brighton

Established in 2004, the Brighton & Hove Business Awards celebrate excellence across the city’s business community. They’re widely regarded as a benchmark for organisations that combine commercial success with positive local impact — recognising innovation, responsibility and leadership across a wide range of sectors.

A focus on conscious design and community

We were honoured to receive the award in a field that included some of Brighton’s most respected purpose-led businesses. The judges recognised our belief that there is a better way to do business-  one grounded in ethical decision-making, community collaboration, and long-term thinking.

From developing materials from waste and committing to circular design principles, to working closely with local makers and suppliers, our approach is rooted in responsibility rather than shortcuts. As our founder, Emer Gillespie shared on the night, this award felt like recognition of what’s possible when a dedicated team comes together with shared values and a clear purpose.

A meaningful milestone

We were thrilled to just to be nominated in this category, but actually being named Green Business of the Year was more than we could have imaged.  It represents an encouraging affirmation of our choices to build a business that balances creativity, craftsmanship and care for the world around us. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and even more motivated by the work still ahead.
