Where we started to where we are now

Looking for something special

It all started with a healthy brass obsession and a starter home we wanted to make our own. In 2015 there were more choices in the market than ever, but it seemed like all the lamps and lights on offer were either too generic or completely unaffordable.

2019 - We hired our first team member, Emma!

So we sourced the parts and made our own...

We proved to ourselves that we could make custom lights at a reasonable price. And with some great feedback from friends and encouragement from the amazing maker community in Brighton, we decided to turn it into a business.

Spark & Bell was built on the belief that lighting should be a more personalised product. And after eight years, over 120 unique designs, and countless customer collaborations, our commitment is still firmly focused on this goal. We also believe that great design is timeless, so every light we sell is hand-made to order using the highest quality components, built to last, and repairable.

We really love what we do

Our shop is full of our favourite designs for you to choose from, most of which are customisable right on the product page. But we also encourage our customers to contact us with their ideas and custom requests. Some of our favourite creations have been collaborations, it's what makes what we do so special!
