Table lamps crafted from solid wood and ceramics

The Poet’s Corner Collection didn’t begin with a lofty concept or a fixed brief.  It emerged from the design room as autumn arrived, with a sense of what we were missing - warmth, substance, and softer light suited to slower, more inward moments at home.

We had been wanting to design surface lamps with greater structure and presence -  An opportunity we explored through our material-led approach, combining solid wood and ceramics to test contrast and proportion, shaping contemporary silhouettes from traditional materials in a way that feels grounded, but new. 

Solid wooden bases, hand-turned by local maker Matt Boyson using sustainably sourced timber, ground each piece. Paired with softly glowing bone china shades, the materials bring warmth, texture, and presence to the designs. Together, they form table lamps that feel as much like sculptural objects as they do functional light.

The name for the collection came later, once the pieces began to suggest where they belonged. These are lamps that feel at home on a writing desk or in a quiet reading nook. Poet’s Corner also nods to a small neighbourhood in Hove, just down the road from our workshop - a place we once lived, and one closely tied to our own sense of home.

Three designs, one visual language

The Beckett is the tallest and most architectural of the three. With its larger base and elongated shade, it brings a sense of structure and verticality—ideal for living spaces that benefit from a little visual height and scale. 

The Brontë has a softer, more traditional profile with its stem and downward shade on a more compact base. The light is cast downward, creating both directional light and a gentle glow that works beautifully on bedside tables or desks.

The Poe directs light upward, using an upturned bone china shade and opal globe on the same smaller base as the Brontë. The light is diffused into the space rather than focused downward, giving the lamp a slightly more contemporary feel.

Made for you, made to last

The collection is available in our signature range of wood finishes—blackened ash, spalted sycamore, oak, and walnut- each bringing its own tone and texture to the design. And with a choice of fabric cable colours and black or white plug-and-switch, each lamp will be made with your own personal touch: understated neutral tones or an expressive pop of colour, entirely your choice.
